In 2004 I began putting my flock together. I started with 20 ewe lambs and 20 mature ewes out of the Brad Smith Flock which I purchased from Barton Club lambs. I also bought 5 ewe lambs with Smoky, Timber, and Bodacious bloodlines from the Bartons. Therefore, I had the privilege of starting out with proven genetics including many Caesar, Streak, Status, and Raider daughters.
My next move was to incorporate 40 ewes from Scott Robinson's flock. These ewes had Dynamite beginnings and the ewe lambs were out of a Trademark buck raised by Brad Smith. If you remember Dynamite farms from New Mexico, you could not forget their phenomenal hides as well
as extreme thickness.
With special thanks to the David Pinkerton family at 5P Club Lambs, their rams as well as the purchase of "Mirage," a double-bred Masterpiece son from Miller Hampshires, have played a pivotal role in getting me to where I am today. Through careful selection, these rams have helped me increase bone, base width, hampshire influence, rack shape, and overall muscle in my flock. Currently, I run approximately 110 ewes.
As a whole, I feel I have a unique "look" to my club lambs. I am very critical of my own sheep and it is extremely important that I produce animals that are structurally correct. It is my opinion that you do not have to sacrifice power in order to have a beautiful show ring presence. I invite you to come see for yourself!
